LABOUR DAY MESSAGE
OFFICE CLOSURE

On September 6, 2021, the BCFMWU Office will be closed to recognize a day that began at the first workers’ rallies of the Victorian era back in 1894. A lot has changed since then, what hasn’t changed is the vital role we as unionized workers, essential workers, provide to the Province and people of British Columbia. For nearly 2 years and into a 4th wave you have stood beside each other, shoulder to shoulder and supported one another and our connected communities during this pandemic. You have promoted a sense of solidarity and belonging that is enviable to other industries and workplaces.

Labour Day is the day to recognize you for the resilience and character you have shown, the support you have offered to each other as co-workers, and the support to other workers across the Province and Country over the past year.

Thank you, in solidarity,

Eric McNeely
Provincial President
