FEDERAL MANDATES ON
VACCINATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION
Since the pandemic began, Ferry Workers have followed Provincial Health orders and safety protocols while on the front line of moving essential goods, services, and people throughout the province. This includes remote communities throughout the BC Coastal area. The health and safety of Ferry Workers is paramount, and we will continue to demand clarity and accommodations for our Union members in light of federal mandates and how they will be carried out provincially for our Union members while at work. Last week, Federal Transportation Minister Alghabra announced that some mandates would be put in place in early October. The Union continues to be in direct communication with BCFS and legislators and will continue to provide clarity as it’s shared with us.
