Your vote matters
B.C. votes this Saturday, October 24. For ferry workers, there’s plenty at stake: reliable service, fair wages, safe staffing, affordable housing and the future of shipbuilding in B.C.
Your union asked the BC NDP, BC Conservatives, BC Greens and Centre BC six questions about the issues affecting our members.
What did the parties say?
We asked about fair wages and secure jobs; workplace safety; access to marine training; housing near work; reliable service and local shipbuilding; and collective bargaining rights.
As you compare the commitments, consider what they would mean for the people delivering ferry service. Promises about more sailings and new vessels need to come with support for trained crews, safe workplaces and jobs people can afford to stay in.
