FLASH GLUCOSE MONITORING MACHINES NOT COVERED
BY THE BCFWMU HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFIT PLAN
It came to our attention that an error was made in the benefit booklet provided by the Company through GWL.
This booklet listed ‘’Flash Glucose Monitoring machines prescribed by a physician” under covered expenses on page 18, however this is not a negotiated benefit and these monitoring systems are not reimbursable.
For this reason, we want to ensure members are aware and advising members who may have copies of the misprinted booklets to dispose of them as they are out of date and the updated version is available on the BCFS intranet.
If a reprint of a new booklet becomes available we will request the Company offer up the printed booklet to new members and members who make the request for a printed copy.
We understand this has been an important issue for BCFMWU members and the united goal to advocate for the best Health and Welfare Benefits for BCFMWU members. For this reason the BCFMWU remains optimistic that the newly negotiated Health and Welfare Committee will assist in us getting there in the years to come.
