Queen of the North – March 22, 2006

Today marks 15 years since the tragedy of the Queen of the North and will be difficult and emotional for many. March 22nd and the events of that day will be forever remembered.

The grief and sadness is shared by all.  In this time, we also remember the men and women of the Queen of the North, its’ passengers, the heroic rescue efforts of crew, Coast Guard, the fishing vessel “Lone Star”, and the generous support provided by the residents of Hartley Bay, Prince Rupert and surrounding communities.

If you or a fellow worker is in need of any emotional support or needs someone to talk to, you are encouraged to contact Homewood Health Employee & Family Assistance at 1.800.663.1142. Support counsellors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
