MESSAGE OF SOLIDARITY
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
March 8, 2021

For over 100 years, people from around the world have marked International Women’s Day.  On this day, we celebrate the accomplishments of women everywhere, but will also recognize this day by its other name and purpose, “Women’s International Day of Struggle”.

In line with this year’s theme, #ChooseToChallenge, BCFMWU challenges you to call out gender bias and inequality every day.  We challenge women and gender non-binary folks to step forward, and challenge men to make space.  We ask you to challenge your own assumptions and biases.  We set down this challenge so to change our world for the better together.

Please join us in this struggle, and #ChooseToChallenge.

In Solidarity,

Graeme Johnston
Provincial President
