Bargaining Update #3

Central Bargaining Committee Message

Greetings members,

In advance of the negotiations later this summer we are providing an update as to the progress of your Central Bargaining Team.

Recently we delved deeply into a collaboration of data, examining historical BCFS wage context and wage comparisons to assist with your Bargaining Committee in upcoming wage reopeners in formulating our position.

We have received the anonymous information gathered from the survey we put out to Union members, and it paints a sobering picture of where we are in terms of the relative income security of our members. This is all helpful information and gives your Committee even more motivation to push for substantial and meaningful changes to our wages in the weeks ahead.

Our Union, in preparation for this negotiation, has requested information from the employer, which is typical ahead of any negotiation and expects to receive disclosure this week.

The Committee will be gathering later in July for a couple of days to put together our proposal ahead of the scheduled August meetings with the Company for wage negotiations.

Members are encouraged to provide input, information, and impact statements to the Central Negotiations Committee by emailing mailroom@bcfmwu.com and addressing correspondence to “Central Bargaining Committee” in the subject line.

In solidarity,
Your BCFMWU Central Negotiating Committee
