Union Bargaining Update
The following update is provided for the information of BCFMWU members only. Please do not post on bulletin boards or share on social media.
The Central Negotiating Committee can now confirm that February 5 to 8, 2024 are slotted for the next Dispute Resolution Panel (DRP) dates. The Vancouver bargaining location has also been secured for February 9, 2024 as a precaution in the event that the panel process runs long on February 8, 2024.
With regards to the Unfair Labour Practice (ULP), which centers on the communications sent by Vice President Cameron Brine as a BCFS representative, BCFS has responded to our Union’s ULP complaint. We anticipate that the Labour Relations Board Vice Chair will request mediation in the coming weeks. If mediation does not produce results, we are looking at greater than three (3) months for available hearing dates. While not directly related to the DRP this is related to process and the bargaining protocol agreement.
