Central Bargaining Committee Message
Greetings members,
Your Central Bargaining Committee met Wednesday May 17, 2023 at the Union Hall, on the traditional and unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw people.
Your Central Bargaining Committee consists of:

- Dan Kimmerly – SOC President
- Peter Milton – Deas Dock Component President
- Gurpreet Tatla – Purchasing – Local 8
- Peter Kelly – Catering – Local 2
- Kevin Lee – Deck – Local
- Jeff Lee – Engineering – SOC
- Chris Klassen – Deck – SOC
During this initial meeting we had an education segment facilitated by our legal team on upcoming negotiations. Specifically, we discussed the difference between full collective bargaining and general and special wage reopeners.
At this meeting, one of our first priorities was to identify a need to communicate with members throughout this process, as a committee. In the coming weeks, you can look forward to more updates from our committee as we move closer to a fair deal for our members.
We are consulting with and receiving advice from our Director of Labour Relations, Kevin Hall and Labour Relations Officer, Chantel O’Neill.
Dates have been set to continue our discussions both as a committee and with the Company later this summer. The Committee members have chosen the spokespersons to represent your voice in the room in negotiations.
